Symphony of Stories: Every Book Has Something to Share

This year, the Children’s Book Week theme is Symphony of Stories.

A symphony is made up of many different parts, each unique on its own but together, it creates something beautiful. Stories are the same. Every book offers a different perspective, a new adventure or a lesson.

At Zikkies, there's a range of books that take up the shelves. There's colourful picture books for children, timeless classics, cookbooks filled with recipes from around the world, craft books that spark creativity and a growing collection of Islamic books for adults and children. Each one has something different to offer.

A common Hadith we come across as Muslims is:

“Seeking knowledge is a duty upon every Muslim (and Muslimah).”
Prophet Muhammad PBUH

Learning doesn't only happen in a classroom. It happens through conversations, experiences and the stories we read. Books help us discover the wonders of the world, appreciate different cultures and ideas and also build empathy for others.

Every book on our shelves has already been a part of someone's story. A well looked after bedtime story may have been read hundreds of times. A favourite cookbook may have brought families together around the dinner table. A children's story may have inspired a lifelong love of reading.

That's one of the beautiful things about choosing pre-loved books. By sharing them, we allow knowledge, imagination and joy to continue reaching new readers and this is how every donated book becomes a gift that keeps giving.

This Children's Book Week, come to Zikkies and explore our collection. Whether you're searching for an Islamic story to read together, a treasured children's classic, a cookbook to try something new or simply one that catches your eye, there's something waiting for everyone.

Peace & Blessings,

Nabila
